I was in Kenya recently and decided to sponsor two girls to Secondary school starting next year because their parents can't afford it and I thought, it would be nice to help them. I was thinking of giving them some pocket money for the next six months but I don't know how much to give each because I do not wish to spoil them. They have dreams and I believe in second chances. My goal is to help them achieve their dreams and I will be sponsoring 2 or 3 people next year when I go back to Kenya for a holiday as long as they don't let me down in terms of overall performance. One girl is 17 years old and the other is 22 years old. The 22 year old dropped out of form 3 cos parents couldn't pay the school fees. The 17 year old couldn't go to school for same reason. What are your thoughts. I am living in New Zealand.

Congressmen call for probe of Obama administration for pushing abortion in Kenya Washington D.C., May 11 (CNA/EWTN News) .- Three leading U.S. congressmen have requested a federal probe into whether the Obama administration broke federal laws by promoting a proposed Kenyan constitution that "radically" changes abortion policy. The Obama administration's advocacy supporting Kenya's proposed constitution may constitute a "serious violation" of the Siljander Amendment and may be subject to civil and criminal penalties, the lawmakers said. According to Rep. Smith's office, the Siljander Amendment, annually included in the State and Foreign Operations Appropriations Act, prohibits lobbying for or against abortion using the funds made available in the act. Penalties for violating the amendment can range from administrative sanctions, such as suspension from duty without pay or removal from office, to sanctions up to a $5,000 fine and imprisonment for up to two years. Writing to Inspectors General (IG) of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Reps. Chris Smith (R-N.J.), Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.) made the allegations against the U.S. administration. According to Rep. Smith's office, the lawmakers reported that Kenya's current constitution includes no reference to abortion and abortion is not legally permitted in Kenya except to save the life of the mother. The proposed constitution, which will be subject to a public referendum in August 2010, includes two new articles that if adopted would "enshrine a new constitutional right to abortion in Kenya and dramatically change Kenya's abortion law," they charged. Article 26 of the proposed constitution would allow abortion in cases where health care professionals believe a mother's "health" is endangered, an exception which has been broadly interpreted in many countries. Article 43 of the proposed constitution would create the right to health care services including "reproductive health care." "Reproductive health care" is not defined in the constitution, but it is a common euphemism for abortion access. On April 22, 2009, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said during testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee that the Obama administration believes that reproductive health "includes access to abortion." In the congressmen's view, any expression of support for or opposition to the proposed constitution, including drafting, offering technical advice, or providing foreign assistance designed to influence public opinion "unavoidably involves lobbying for or against abortion." "This concern is particularly salient given the prominence of the abortion issue in the public debate over the referendum," the congressmen's letter continued. They reported that the chairman of Kenya's Committee of Experts on Constitutional Review has named abortion as one of the four most contentious issues in the proposal. Rep. Smith noted that the U.S. State Department has pledged to spend $2 million to build support for the proposed constitution. The congressmen requested an "immediate audit" of all U.S. government funds used or anticipated to be used to support Kenya's proposed constitution. Rep. Smith is the leading Republican on the House Africa and Global Health Subcommittee. Rep. Ros-Lehtinen is the ranking Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, while Rep. Issa is the lead Republican on the House Oversight Committee. According to Rep. Smith's office, all three congressmen have broad legal oversight jurisdiction concerning federal funds used internationally.

Iam 30 years old.I used to be the kind that felt going out with a married man was wrong, until it happened to me,and honestly I want to end it.Here's how it all started and the complications. We were friends in high school and college. He cleared college a couple of years ahead of me.After college we lost touch. After I cleared college I got a job in the same town as him though all this time we were not communicating. In 2005 he called me up and was surprised we were working in the same town.We met for coffee later and then started going out as friends later we got intimate. In 2007 i felt I needed to end the relationship since he was a married man with a child so I talked to him told him we couldn't continue seeing each other even as friends since i had feelings for him.He didn't comment but left.Come Friday he called me up we go out for a drink and talk.Thinking it was about what I had earlier talked about i went but we ended in my bed afterr hanging out.The following Monday I was to travel out of town,so i wrote him a mail telling him I never wanted to see him again. On Thurssday,I came back to town and he texted saying he needed to talk to me urgently.Since It was a weekday I knew I was safe so we met for coffee. He went on to tell me he'd lost his job and since we'd been friends we talked about his situation. Now caught up in this i sympathised with him and eventually we started seeing each other again.he's still jobless 3 years later and I have stood by him all this while,I have paid his rent, paid his siblings fees paid his child's fees given him cash and I have never complained about anything nor wanted to end the affair.I want to start seeing other people, date and get married and raise my own family so how do I tell this guy I want to end it?I can still support him as a friend but not get intimate with him.I fear telling him anything since he may think am tired of helping him.Anyone who can help me with this one I'll be grateful.

We new each other for some time back in shags. We met in town after some time and I told her my feelings about her. She told me we could only be friends and nothing more, I respected that and decided to remain her friend even though this isn't what I wanted. We still communicated easily about general things and she could invite me for some functions. This continued and sometimes her replies to some of my text messages were surprisingly positive until we found ourselves talking about a 'relationship'. We are in different towns now and this worries me so much coz she rarely texts or calls but whenever I call she says everything is fine. I like her so much and would want to spend the rest of my life with her..she never seems to understand this coz I have tried to explain to her that at least we need to meet and discuss serious issues. Do I continue being patient?

Wow; now our new house help has just locked our submissive Sansui tv, and she has no idea what she did. Unfortunately, im using a generic remote and have no idea how to remove the child lock. I'm getting punished as I cant watch news or my favourite sport or cartoons. Who'll come to my aid. I have googled for manuals to naught!

Dear Admin & majibunites, As everyone looks at their screens wondering why participation in this forum is at an all time low (majibu waiting to be buried) let me point out some of the reasons: 1.) Admin you have nothing new to offer in terms of innovation. if majibu was chat enabled then people would make friends and motivate each other to interract. 2.) Majibu's kitchen cabinet (wont mention names): these are the guys who answer ?tions for the sake of the 2 points and there friends /?tion owners claim that is the best answer despite the shallowness displayed. style up guys. 3.) insults to anyone who questions the dumbness of a question. take for instance stigis question (meet crazy pple.) - the gang of kulman, aymar, kiash, tryinghard, njeeri, strayberryice, travel & alisat came out with their guns blazing of insults to a newcommer and chased the guy away. this same pple taught themneks to control here tempers. Anyway admin continue to bury your head in the sand like an ostrich will see how that works

Happy new yr. Thanks for your advice. More devt occurred. I sat her down and in a very calm manner asked her to confess but she didn’t, insisting there is nothing. I bumped again on an sms report to that number on two different occasions. I first gauged her asking if they had communicated after the first time and she declined. When I showed her the sms report, she was surprised. I asked her why she deleted the sms and there is no reply as well, she said she cudnt remember sending an sms but later said she sent her a xmass messege. I asked her how comes ‘she’ hasnt sent her a reply and nolonger sends her the ‘gudnities’, she cudnt answer. She later deleted that report and these days ensures there is no message or call reports except for me or close family. She lated fumed that she has devorted all her love to me & since she cant have an affair and Im doubting her, she’ll commit suicide. I calmed her down and promised never to ask her again. But Im still bothered. She behaves normal, .....contd
